Coma? No thanks!

In 2009 I woke up from a two year coma after a tremendous car accident, where doctors thought I should be dead. It was a long and exertive time to find my way back to life again. During my time in therapy I took a bad fall on the floor and broke my hip. I had to go back to the hospital for a surgery where I met Simon. He told me that he lives in Costa Rica and runs Zopilote surf camp.
“Can a disabled person surf ?” I asked , Simon replied simply “yes”.

From this moment I had a goal. April 2014 I had my first experience with a surfboard at Zopilote Surfcamp. Simon and his crew helped me with catching some waves in the white water where my biggest highlight was being able to kneeing on the board and lift both arms up. “Incredible!”

Thanks to the help to Simon and his crew, my wish to be able to surf came true. I reached a dream that nobody thought I could.

“ disabled can surf! ”
Need fun? – go surfing!
