Epic Trip - another travel site

Friday, September 21st, 2007

Epic Trip is a very convenient and multi-medial community site for the travel interested folks. We covered already a few (TripTie, TripHub, GeoBeats and Travellerspoint), and Epic Trip is somehow different: the main focus here is to give away tips and hints where to go and what to see, nicely supported by many great pics and vids.

Epic Trip

The site is not only informative (and I like the photo section the most), but also fully functional: you can search for hotels, book travel or select your travel destinations by video.

FareCast - how to predict low air fares

Friday, September 14th, 2007

All travellers want to safe money on their air fares. At least a big portion of them. But how to do so? Do you rely on your travel agent or web information? Maybe. But this is a interesting new idea: to predict lower prices and to know when to order or not.

From the site:

“A Fare Prediction shows if the lowest fare is rising or dropping over the next seven days for the specific dates and cities searched.” You will get a buying tip, average change fare and a confidence value.

And additionally check the fare history:

“Fare History charts the lowest fare observed each day for your trip, up to 90 days ago. In other words, it’s as if you would have searched for your trip every day and plotted the lowest fare actually available. To provide the airfare history, we have made more than 175 billion, and counting, airfare observations based on real pricing and availability.”

Interesting tool - check it!
