Scott Aichner ist well known in the surf scene - maybe not as a surfer, but as a photographer.
According to a report in Surfersvillage News, the Venezuelan surfer Magnum Martinez placed himself between the best five Latin American surfers. Besides, the member of the Quiksilver International team, finished this great year of competitions on the fourth place of the ranking in the ALAS (Latinamerican Surf Assosiation) 2006 tour.
Martinez participated 2006 in different stages of the WQS tour, where making an outstanding performance on Newport Beach Pro 2006 where he reached the fifth position. One of the most remarkable moments on 2006 took place in the US Open on Huntington Beach, California during July. Magnum Martinez was MTV Latin American host there. The Venezuelan brought the words of Latin surfers who compitted on the mythical californian wave to millions of screens.
A new book about 12 simple lessons that are within every surfer.
After a relatively slow start to the Northern Hemisphere big wave season, the last two weeks have produced an almost endless stream of significant swells, first in the Atlantic and more recently in the Pacific. Top surfers have been on hand to take on the huge waves and the resulting photographic evidence has been entered in the annual Billabong XXL Global Big Wave awards in both the Monster Paddle and XXL (tow-in) categories.
