Parque Nacional Palo Verde

The Palo Verde National is located between the Bebedero River and the Tempisque river which is about 30 km west of Cañas city. This park (extension of 16.804 hectares) is characterized by prairie habitats, rivers and hills. During the wet season, the complete area may convert in a large lagoon.

But also for the animal friend, this park has a lot to offer: during the dry season, many birds like sea gulls, herons, ducks and other will come and rest in the lagoons. The entire population counts 279 different bird species. For bird watchers, the Bird Island is interesting.
