A typical day at Zopilote: from a guest’ view - I

The day starts with the sun, and the waves. It’s not over, when the sun sets, even. At this camp, time has another quality.

After night, you will wake up either by the daylight or the wrestling games of Ivy and Lucy in front of the house. They love to play, and they do it in respect for the guests: they don’t bark at all.

My favorite first steps went always upstairs, to the roof, where you could enjoy a long and peaceful view of the Ocean, and the waves. Bruno or Simon would be already watching the shore and discussing points. A cup of coffee in the hands, you just feel very relaxed and ready for another day at the surf camp.

It can take a while for everybody to get up and be ready to come down to the beach, and sometimes I stayed longer at the terrace, watching all of them from above. But for the most time, I was thrilled to have my shorts on and the board on the roof of the car.

Two hours later, we came back from the beach, from the waves, from new success stories and under-water experiences, and had a big breakfast - cereals, eggs, fruits, all prepared in different ways. That’s the time, you will look for a hammock, and just relax again for mid-day, reading or talking to others, playing with the dogs or just watching the ocean and tracking some whales out there. The time passes by, very slowly, you sleep, you dream, and you are in Costa Rica, where the water temperature is great and the heat bearable.
