November: Best surf in Costa Rica
The main season in Costa Rica for vacation is the dry season from Mid-December to March where many tourists from North America and Europe flock into this country. Also surfers tend to come during this period although prices are at their highest and the wave conditions are almost stable throughout the year.
This peak in tourist interest leads to crowded hotels, busses, a shortage on rental cars and overall higher prices, especially in the tourist centers. Traditionally this is true during X-mas and New Year holidays (which is of course a pain everywhere in the world).
A good idea is to avoid this time, if possible, and to come during November to Costa Rica. Why? For surfers, the waves are perfect. The life at the beach is very relaxed, there are few people in the water and prices for accomodation and travel hit their bottom.
