What’s about that: go to college and surf daily? Ok, this is maybe no new idea to Californians and other students on the US-coast and Australia, but for European surfers, this sounds like a dream.

The Transworld magazine evaluates colleges as “surfer-friendly” institutions, and on the top-five list for the entire East Coast is Florida Tech in Melbourne (Fla.). And listen to that: “I think it’s exciting,” Panthers athletic director Bill Jurgens said. “I’ve known students who have attended Florida Tech who have come in on surfing scholarships. It speaks well for our university and the opportunities surfers have to practice and compete on a regular basis while getting a quality education.” (via Florida Today)

Surfing scholarship, sounds like a marketing joke to me. Or something I will never taste (too old). Hmm. What about Costa Rica? Participating in social or environmental projects, and surf every day?
