The difference of surf and soccer

Maybe all of us saw it, and maybe all of us have a different opinion about it. I’m not a big soccer fan, but caught the fewer a little bit during the world championships. Costa Rica left early, a nation disappointed. Brazil left very early, and high flying Argentina lost to the Germans. And then the Italians, lucky to get the gift against the Aussies, fighting their way to the finals.

Competitions around surf

While our beloved San Diego Padres smacked the Washington Nationals 5-2 (see here for coverage) in front of US-President Bush, another President - that one of the Costa Rican Surfing Federation - nomitated the Costa Rica national team for the coming surf championships ‘Adio Campeonato Centroamericano De Surf Adrenalina’.

Welsh surfers in Costa Rica

An interesting article about the growing popularity of surfing was published yesterday by Western Mail / icWales. Last week the World Championships were held in Costa Rica, no, not in Soccer, but in Surfing. Two participants came from Wales, and that’s what the article is about - surfers from the island. Surfer saves boy from riptide in Playa Hermosa

A surfer saved the life of a boy who was taking out to the open ocean by a strong riptide. Huge waves scared off people from entering the water as they watched and screamed the boy moving further out.

Oakura house matters - longboards in the garden

After the first beach trip in Oakura, I didn’t feel confident that we would have better weather for the next day. It was stormy, somehow rainy and not warm at all. The best idea for the moment was to make coffee, and that changed a lot.
