Tamarindo and Zopilote Surf Camp
Tamarindo was once like Santa Teresa - a small fishing town, left in peace. Now, it’s one of the major destinations on the Costa Rican Pacific Coast in Guanacaste. The very clear water and the intact nature made it easy to become that popular.
The beaches around Tamarindo offers very good conditions for surfers and windsurfers, but also to many other marine activities like snorkeling, kayaking or sailing. Close to Tamarindo you will find the Marino Las Baulas National Part with leatherback turtles flocking together every summer.
Although Tamarindo is very popular, you may find some quiet spots along the wide beach. Take care of strong rip currents (see story here), as well as tourist robberies, which are growing concern in the Tamarindo area for some years.
Our camp is south of Tamarindo and far away of any troubles you might experience in a booming town like Tamarindo. We will pick you up from the bus station in Cobano, so you can’t get lost…
