Costa Rica a success story - CIA approves

The CIA factbook updated their data about Costa Rica and confirms what we know for years: Costa Rica is a Central American success story:

“since the late 19th century, only two brief periods of violence have marred its democratic development. Although it still maintains a large agricultural sector, Costa Rica has expanded its economy to include strong technology and tourism industries. The standard of living is relatively high. Land ownership is widespread.”

Costa Rica size is around 50.000 sq km, that’s the size of West Virginia. For us surfer, this is more important: we have 1.290 km coastline, the climate is tropical and subtropical with a dry season from December to April and a rainy, green season from May to November (although rainfall is most at night); that’s plenty of beaches and surf possibilities!
